What We Strive to Do

Willow Cafe and Bistro was built on our passion for our community and a desire to gather in a space where every dish communicates our love of good food.

We want to build a space and menu that soothes the soul with delightful bites and flavors that will be changing throughout the year. Our ingredients are fresh and change seasonally, and so does our menu. There is no telling what we may be adding to the menu next: one day it may be plumb cakes and the next apple cider donuts. No matter what, it will be fresh.

Why “Willow”?

Our owner, Andrew Pillman, has a deep love for weeping willow trees. The long branches stretching to the ground, blowing in the wind, provided a space to inspire his imagination in his childhood. This love carried over to his own kids. When he moved to Chicago and started his own family, the park closest to his new life had magnificent willows on rolling hills tucked near the Lincoln Square neighborhood.

To Andrew, willows are nostalgically comforting and imaginative: exactly the emotions he wants to pull with the dishes and items at Willow Café and Bistro.
